Rhames & Willis Reunite for SF Thriller
Ving Rhames (”Kojak”) will reunite with fellow “Pulp Fiction” veteran Bruce Willis in the sci-fi thriller “The Surrogates,” which starts shooting later this month, according to The Hollywood Reporter.”
In “Pulp Fiction” Rhames played crime boss Marsellus Wallace, the man that Bruce’s character, washed-up prizefigher Butch Coolidge double-crossed, which led to one of the most brutal down and dirty fist fight scenes in cinematic history.

For this new Disney film, based on a graphic novel, Rhames will play a charismatic cult figure in a world where humans live risk-free lives through robot surrogates that are eternally young, perfect-looking versions of themselves. Rhames’ hatred over the use of surrogates leads his followers to amass an uprising against the established order. Willis plays the cop who has the help of a surrogate to track down and arrest the cult leader because of murders committed by his clan.
“The Surrogates” co-stars Australian actress Radha Mitchell (”Silent Hill”) as Willis’ professional partner, and Brit Rosamund Pike (”Fracture”) as his wife. Jonathan Mostow is set to helm the futuristic project.

It’s gotten so that any time I see or hear the phrase “scfi-fi thriller”, I cringe. They used to be called horror movies, and there hasn’t been a good one in decades. I wish this “sci-fi thriller” trend would go away, so we can get some sci-fi movies made that aren’t akin to 50s atomic matinees.
All it needs is Samuel L Jackson with a robot arm!
And an android Travolta on the commode
And a virtual Uma Thurman doing the watusi!
What does the choice in pics tell us about Sam
