Two Films Vie For This Week’s #1 DVD Slot

“Enchanted” and “I Am Legend” duked it out and neither could best the other so they both share the number one slot in DVD sales this week….at least that is the way we are calling it.

Some money-changers have “Enchanted” narrowly edging out “I Am Legend” while others have the Blu-ray edition of the Will Smith apocalyptic film taking number one.

Both films did quite well during their theatrical runs, however, “I Am Legend” made more than twice the box office of the lighter Disney family/romantic fare. In fact, “Legend” set a record for a 3-day run bringing with a little over $256 million to date, while Enchanted’s theatrical take counts out to almost $128 mil.

“I Am Legend” also topped the most rented charts as well, with “Enchanted” coming in third, right after Academy Award winner “No Country For Old Men.”
