firstworldposter-web2.jpg“First World” will be screening at OmegaCon this weekend in Birmingham, AL, starting at 12:30 PM on March 15.

Additional screenings will be taking place in the United Kingdom the weekend of March 21 at Orbital 2008.

Finally, the Mark Lund production will move into Ireland on August 29 for the big weekend celebration at Mecon.

“First World” commences in the 1960’s when NASA discovers a vast and advanced civilization in the Sea of Tranquility on the Moon. Up until that time, this civilization had been shielded from all Earth-based detection devices and was not visible to the naked eye or through Earth-based telescopes. During the Apollo missions, false images were transmitted and a worldwide cover-up began. “First World” begins in the year 2018 when the Chinese government announces it is sending its first manned mission to the Moon. What does this civilization represent and why was it covered up?

Mark is another of those fine young up and coming film producers with a background in television sports broadcasting. As an avid fan of SF and fantasy, he wrote this feature-length screenplay in the sci-fi/drama genre titled “First World.”

You can catch our time with him in on the show which turned out to be one of the more fun interviews for all of 2007. Mark’s enthusiasm and excitement about making SF movies was infectious. You can catch that Slice of SciFi interview HERE or HERE.
