amazing-spider-man1.jpgenglund.jpgRobert Englund, most noted as Freddy Krueger in the successful “Nightmare on Elm Street” film franchise has been signed on to give voice to Vulture, one of the more terrifying villains for the new “Spider Man” CW Network animated series.

CW made the announcement this morning in its official press release stating that the show will premiere this Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 10AM Et/PT on its Kids’ WB! segment.

Also in the voice cast are Peter MacNicol portraying Doc Ock, Lacey Chabert as Gwen Stacy, Vanessa Marshall will perform Mary Jane Watson and Josh Keaton as Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider Man.

The first episode titled “Survival of the Fittest,” has Peter Parker returning to high school for his junior year facing a group of supervillans called The Enforcers. Adding to his troubles is the introduction of this new baddie voiced by Englund.
