“Life On Mars” is Life in Spain

February 28, 2008 by Sam Sloan   || Category: TV

It now appears that the popular BBC television show “Life on Mars” won’t only see a remake in the United States under the tutelage of “The Practice” and “Boston Legal” guru David E. Kelley, but will also be making a splash in Spain.

Spanish terrestrial broadcaster Antena 3 TV will provide its own version of the high-concept cop drama with the title “Vida en Marte.”

Most of the action will take place in 1978 Madrid. The show will be shot on location in that major city, but also on locations throughout Spain. Like the U.K. original the stories will center on the life of a time-travelling police detective.

It is scheduled for a primetime appearance sometime during the 2009 television season.
