In a bit of anti-climatic news the members of the Writers Guild of America overwhelmingly approved the contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
The new contract increases payment for shows offered on the Internet among a bevy of other positions the writers held out for during their 4-month long strike against the studio and network bosses.
WGA leadership says the deal was endorsed by 93.6 percent of it members who voted in Los Angeles and New York.
Under the new contract, writers will get a maximum flat fee of about $1,200 for programs streamed on the Internet during the agreement’s first two years and then get two percent of a distributor’s gross in year three.
