Statham Revives Transporter
Jason Statham is getting behind the wheel at least one more time and will reprise his role as the fast driving mercenary/delivery man Frank in “Transporter 3,” the next installment in the very popular high-speed franchise.
Also back on hand is his previous co-star Francois Berleand. But, not coming back is director Louis Leterrier, who has been replaced by Oliver Megaton (”The Red Siren”).
Actor Robert Knepper, one of the stars of the hit Fox Television series “Prison Break,” will be joining the cast as well.
Worldwide box office appeal for the Transporter films has been astronomical with a to-date take of more than $130 million (USD) worldwide.
Statham can next be seen on March 7, 2008 in the high-intensity thriller “The Bank Job” and will be starring in the new “Death Race” film due out this coming September. However, his most anticipated role will be the return of Chev Chelios in the “Crank” sequel titled “Crank 2: High Voltage.” Look for it in 2009.
