“Street Fighter: Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li,” based on the very popular Japanese video game has been given a go for adaptation as a major film. The cast will include “Journeyman” actress Moon Bloodgood, Kristin Kreuk, Michael Clarke Duncan, Chris Klein and Rick Yune. Also on hand will be martial arts star Chun-Li. Duncan playing Balrog, Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas, Singapore’s Edmund Chen and Hong Kong film star Cheng Pei Pei. The role of the villainous Bison has yet to be cast. Shooting will begin on location in Hong Kong, Thailand and Japan.

“Moonlight” showrunner and executive-producer Chip Johannessen has left “Moonlight,” the CBS series, leaving executive-producer Joel Silver and the show’s remaining writing staff to work on the four remaining episodes of the season. “Moonlight” has moved from greenlight status for a second season to a holding pattern. This latest news about Johannessen’s departure doesn’t bode well for the vampire show.
“Journeyman” won last week’s SCI FI Channel poll that asked the question: “If the writer’s settle their strike, which new show do you most want to see back immediately?” The canceled NBC SF series garnered 41% of the vote with over 14,000 votes cast. NBC, you own SCI FI, are you reading your own polls? Bring back “Journeyman.”

Brit actor Rufus Sewell (“Illusionist”) will play the lead role in producer Jerry Bruckheimer’s CBS sci-fi series “Eleventh Hour.” The project, based on a four-part series that aired in Britain in 2006, centers on a special science adviser to the U.S. government (Sewell) who, with his feisty female bodyguard in tow, saves people from the worst abuses of science. The English original, which aired on BBC America last year, starred Patrick Stewart as the science adviser.
