Strike Over — List of Shows Returning

February 12, 2008 by Sam Sloan   || Category: TV News

NOw that the writer’s strike is over and it is likely members of the Guild will approve the new 3-year contract agreement, scribes and producers are forced to look at what will be chosen to return to their respective networks for a continuation of their series.

We have the inside scoop on which SF/genre-related programming will be coming back to each network. Here is the list of shows returning to the 5 networks either this Summer or in the Fall.

ABC

Lost
Pushing Daisies
Samantha Who!

Eli Stone - (no official word yet on its future on ABC)

CBS

Ghost Whisperer
Moonlight
The Big Bang Theory

CW

Reaper
Smallville
Supernatural

Fox

24
New Amsterdam (has yet to premiere on the network)
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (on the ropes but not out yet - a full decision on the show’s future is forthcoming from the network)

NBC

Chuck
Heroes
Medium

Life - not SF but very fine television viewing

The Bionic Woman will not be returning to NBC and Journeyman will not be picked up by the peacock network for another 13 episodes. Keep sending in those letters, Rice O’ Roni and emails. NBC owns The USA Network and The SCI FI Channel, so the show may be on the mat, but the count of 10 has not yet been reached.

If your favorite genre-related show is not on the above list, fret not. This is the list of shows that the networks have already given the go light for. Others are still under consideration and when their fate has been decided an announcement will be made. Stay tuned.

I’m liking the Terminator series, so I hope the show makes it.

I only want Bionic Woman to return long enough to wrap up the loose ends, then it can go. I enjoyed it, but not enough to be upset if it only gets one season.

What’s not to like about the Terminator series? Good action, good stories, fairly faithful to the mythology of the movies, and two HOT ladies! I’m not sure what the “haters” don’t like.

I am so happy that “Pushing Daisies” will continue. What a unique show.

Any word on whether or not BSG will be completing season 4?

Tell me when there’s good action on “Sarah Connor Chronicles”. There hasn’t been any since the pilot episode. I wanted to watch Terminator, but instead I’m watching Sarah and John Connor’s menial day-to-day existence.

Why don’t we do a pre emptive campaing for SCC. Instead of waiting for it to be cancelled.

I am VERY disappointed in the lack of support by NBC (or any other network for that matter) for JOURNEYMAN. The best show (in my opinion), overlooked for some reality-tv rubbish.

And yes, my Rice-A-Roni has been sent!

Reaper is my favorite show right now! Good quirky enjoyable characters and a changing villian every week!

Omg, Pushing Daisies is SUCH a good show, beautiful art and cast, premise, everything, i would seriously be crushed if that show ever got cancelled!

I’m sorry but, to me the Bionic Woman was very good. I’m sadden to hear that there’s a possiblity that it will not return. As far as myself I looked forward to seeing the show every week. I loved the love interest between her and the agent.
