Rockwell Lunar Bound

hitchhikers-history-21.jpgSam Rockwell, known to SF fans for his fabulous performance in the quirky and entertaining SF spoof on Star Trek called “Galaxy Quest” is ready to star in another sci-fi movie.

First there was the Earth-bound story of Robinson Crusoe. Then there was the less tha stellar “Robinson Crusoe on Mars,” and now it looks like that formula, minus Friday, will be revisited for the Moon.

The movie, titled “Moon,” is about a man stranded on the Lunar surface all alone, according to a report on MTV.com.

At the recent Sundance Film Festival, Rockwell told a reporter from MTV.com who commented about the actor’s facial hair, “I’m doing a sci-fi movie where I’m stranded on the moon for three years. That’s why I have the beard.”

Rockwell can also be seen in the upcoming Ron Howard directed film “Frost/Nixon,” and “Gentlemen Broncos,” the story of a teenager who attends a fantasy writers’ convention only to discover that his idea has been stolen by an established novelist.
