Journeyman News On the Next Slice of SciFi Show #146

January 31, 2008 By S. K. Sloan Leave a Comment

Our guests this week for Slice of SciFi Show #146 are some of those fine folks who are working industriously to save Journeyman, the NBC show that the network failed to pick up after it aired 13 episodes. On hand for the interview are Njdeh from Journeyman Fansite, Todd of the Save Journeyman.net and Troy Price from the Journeyman Podcast.

Last week we had “Journeyman” series creator, writer and executive producer Kevin Falls on the show and he was very grateful for the effort that we and all our guests for this week’s show have been doing and will continue doing to try and get NBC to recognize the great show they have on their hands. Especially in these days of less than stellar ideas, “Journeyman” was a real breath of fresh creative air.

In the News we have three stories of great interest and one in particular that might catch your fancy. It is a SCI FI to SCI FACT story talking about how scientists are on the very threshold of creating a viable synthetic lifeform. Also in the news is the recent acquisition of all the “MST3K” episodes by the Shout! Factory and some details on who may end up helming the 2-part Hobbit feature film.

Movie Talk will feature John Cleese adding his acting ability for the remake of “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” and “Fanboys” co-writer Ernest Cline is again promising that the long-delayed film should be in theaters…….soon.

“Lost” returns tonight (Thurs. Jan. 31) on ABC and we will be discussing that in our TV Talk portion of the show, as well as giving a “Fringe” update. This is the new JJ Abrams SF show coming to Fox.

Future Talk addresses the big ticket name that “G.I. Joe” has finally landed to give the film some real credibility. Fans were starting to worry, but now some of those fears can be laid to rest. We tell you all about it.

Besides our Save Journeyman fandom guests and all the infotainment on hand we also have three, count them, three contests running on Saturday. One concludes on midnight Saturday, one just begins and the third winds its way to its final week. Be sure to tune in to find out which is which.

Join the whole Slice of SciFi studio gang this Saturday, February 2, 2008 for Show #146. Our XM-Satellite listeners can catch the show on Monday, February 4 on The Sonic Channel. See you then.
