Journey To the Center Of the Earth — Tonight on Ion Cable Network

January 27, 2008 by Sam Sloan   || Category: TV News

10m.jpgRick Schroder, Victoria Pratt and Peter Fonda star in tonight’s ION Network presentation of “Journey To the Center Of the Earth.” This classic adventure has seen a total of nine remakes since its original back in 1959. Those remakes ranged from everything like big screen films, straight-to-DVD releases, a television series and miniseries. Tonight’s debut comes on the heels of Brendan Fraser’s big screen version titled “Journey To the Center Of the Earth - 3D,” due out for theatrical release on July 11, 2008.

This newest TV movie version features Schroder as Jonathan Brock, an anthropologist adventurer who is hired by a woman (Pratt) to track down her missing husband (Fonda). Fonda’s character, himself an adventurer has come up missing after searching to find the mythical passage to the center of the Earth.

“Journey To the Center Of the Earth” promises to follow, as close as reasonably possible for a TV production, the original 1870′ novel from Jules Verne.

The movie will premiere tonight (Sun. Jan. 27) on the ION cable network at 9/8C.
