Letterman’s Return Guarantees Big Audience

ts.jpgIf you had a choice between staying up and watching the unpredictable madness of Robin Williams or the…yawn…of Governor Mike Hucklebee, which channel would you tune in?

Robin Williams will be David Letterman’s first guest upon the return of his “Late Show” on CBS this coming Wednesday (Jan. 2) while Leno will have the Presidential hopeful Hucklebee.

The other disadvantage facing both Leno (NBC) and Jimmy Kimmel (ABC) will be the lack of a professional writing staff on their return back on the air since the writer’s strike began back on November 5.

The WGA strike is still in full force, however, Letterman was able to forge a landmark separate agreement with the Guild and returns with all his writers back before their laptops grinding out jokes and other skits and offerings common to Letterman’s popular late night talk show.

The deal made by Letterman’s Worldwide Pants production company also allows writers to return to Craig Ferguson’s late-night show, also owned by Dave.
