James Cameron’s groundbreaking 3D SF film “Avatar” has been pushed back to December 18, 2009. It was originally set to be released for the 2009 U.S. Memorial Day weekend in May.
Cameron stated that he wanted a little more time to be able to tweek what is being called the most technologically advanced development in 3D visual effects in movie making history. Variety has reported that this delay will also give theater owners more time to get the necessary 3D screens installed into their movie houses across the country.
