Takei In New Trek Movie?
Written by: Derek Kessler (Trek United News Manager)
According to the latest issue of Starbust Magazine, George Takei will be appearing in the new Star Trek movie (due in theaters on December 25, 2008). In an interview with Takei about his work on “Heroes” and “Star Trek” (mostly discussing/promoting the Star Trek Remastered HD DVD set), Takei let drop the news that he will be appearing in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek.” We can assume that he will be playing his iconic character Hikaru Sulu.
The role of young Sulu has already been cast to comedy actor John Cho. According to the interview, Takei will be featured in a ‘flash forward’ scene (as opposed to a flashback) with Leonard Nimoy as the older Spock. While we don’t know just how much screen time Takei will get, at this time it appears that his role will just be a cameo.
Takei last appeared as Captain Sulu in the most recent edition of Star Trek New Voyages’ episode titled “World Enough And Time.”

Do you think this news has anything to do with the HEROES cast, including Takei, posing with “SLUSHO” drinks (re: CLOVERFIELD)?

If not, then it’s fun to theorize anyways.
Shatner’s gonna be pissed.
