On This Week’s Slice of SciFi Show #137 — Walter Koenig & Sky Conway

November 29, 2007 By S. K. Sloan Leave a Comment

koenigw.jpgconway.jpgSlice of SciFi show #137, ready for download on Saturday, December 1 and on XM-Satellite Radio’s The Sonic Channel on Monday, will have actor/producer/writer Walter Koenig and producer Sky Douglas Conway as our very special guests.

Walter is a legend in the sci-fi world, having played the beloved Star Trek character Pavel Chekov for 41 years and the Psi-corps agent Alfred Bester on the history making “Babylon 5” series for four years. Walter is an accomplished actor, producer, writer and director with a very distinguished career in the entertainment industry.

His most recent project is one of his own creation called “InAlienable .” Sky Conway is the producer for the film, which Walter wrote and stars in. The movie, directed by Robert Dyke (“Moontrap,” “Angels in the Outfield”), also stars Battlestar Galactica’s Richard Hatch, Star Trek alums Marina Sirtis, Alan Ruck, Richard Herd, Gary Graham and J.G. Hertzler, as well as Walter’s son Andrew Koenig, who played the Joker in the award-winning fan film “Batman: Dead End.” Other stars in the film are B5’s Patricia Tallman, Stargate’s Jay Acovone, Judy Levitt and many more.

Walter and Sky will tell us all about “InAlienable,” which premieres online December 15 at Renegade Studios.com; and maybe we can get Walter to also tell us a bit about his role in the Tim Russ Internet Star Trek miniseries “Of Gods and Men” and his important work giving aid to Burmese refugees.

The rest of the show is chalk-full of news and entertainment, such as these stories:

We give you the latest update on the long-awaited audio series “Star Trek: Unity” and tell you when to expect it on the Net. Fox is running a Terminator Poster Event and we tell you how to enter. And, the WGA may be on strike, but that doesn’t mean writers have stopped pounding away on their keyboards.

Lots to talk about at the Movies this week with the new horror/thriller “Timber Falls” and the must see movie event of the year — “The Golden Compass.”

We have some great news for fans of a certain SF show on NBC. Let’s just say, one geek just got an extension on his job at the Buy More. Fan fav James Marsters will make a special visit to Cardif; and Ben Stiller is ready to tackle the small screen with a new SF comedy he will direct, produce and write.

The future doesn’t look so good for residents of “Planet 51, as it appears their worst fears may be coming to pass. Director Spike Jonze is going wild with his next children’s fantasy adventure film.

If all we had for you this week was Walter Koenig and Sky Conway, then we’d already have the makings of a terrific show, but we have them both and loads more. So, this Saturday on the Net and Monday on XM, drop what you’re doing, set the volume on high and prepare for a geek-fest as we bring you a great Slice of SciFi Show #137. See you then!
