Actress Sydney Poitier has landed a role on NBC’s two-hour movie “Knight Rider,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. Whether or not the series returns on as weekly show will depend on the ratings success of the pilot film about a man and his talking car.
The “Transformers”-inspired sequel centers on Mike Tracer (Justin Bruening), the son of Michael Knight, the character played by David Hasselhoff in the original production. Poitier will play a feisty FBI agent who dislikes Mike.
Poitier, youngest daughter of Academy Award winning actor Sidney Poitier, starred in Quentin Tarantino’s “Death Proof” portion of the “Grindhouse” double-feature, and the series “Veronica Mars.”
