The great Emmy nominated and Tony Award winning actor Frank Langella (“Superman Returns”) will be joining Cameron Diaz for the suspense horror film “The Box.”
Langella will play a stranger who presents the mysterious box to Diaz’s character. When she and her husband open the box they gain instant wealth, but with one caveat — every time the box is opened, a stranger dies.
The Richard Matheson short story “Button, Button” is the basis for the film and it comes from “Donnie Darko” helmer Richard Kelly and producer Sean McKittrick.
Look for it in theaters sometime in 2008. Exact dates TBA.

A SciFi movie based on an intelligent story. Haven’t seen one of those in a while. This could be very good. I hope they pull it off.
Summer Brooks says
A new Matheson short story collection containing “Button, Button” is due out from Tor in April 2008.
