Man Arrested in “Indiana Jones” Theft

October 5, 2007 by Sam Sloan   || Category: Other

The Los Angeles Police have arrested a man in connection with the robbery of computers, photos and various other items from the set of Steven Spielberg’s next Indy film (see related story).

Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the L.A. Police, in a statement to the Associate Press, said the man, whose name is being withheld as the investigation continues, was nabbed during a sting operation to uncover those involved with the theft.

Whitmore indicated that they were tipped-off when some of the stolen images were being offered for sale to several Internet sites and entertainment publications. In a tight working relationship the sites and publications notified the police immediately, leading to the man’s arrest for suspicion of receiving and the distribution for profit of stolen property. Police did state that the unnamed suspect is on parole for previous illegal activity.
