Do you think there are “No Such Thing As Vampires?”
After a series of vampire-style murders plague L.A., immortal investigator Mick St. John, played by Alex O’Loughlin, sets out to find the culprits and re-connects with a woman, Internet reporter Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), from his past at a crime scene, on the series premiere of “MOONLIGHT,” airing tonight — Friday, September 28 at 9:00 ET/PT on the CBS Television Network right after the season premiere of “Ghost Whisperer.”
Mick St. John is a captivating, charming- and immortal- private investigator from Los Angeles who defies the traditional blood-sucking norms of his vampire tendencies by using his wit and powerful supernatural abilities to help mortals and keep them safe. In a life-altering twist of fate, Mick was “bitten” 60 years ago by his new bride, the seductive Coraline. Forever 30 years of age, Mick’s as handsome and charismatic as the day he was “turned,” and he eschews others of his kind who view humans only as a source of nourishment. With only a handful of like-minded confidantes for company, including the eternally young, wealthy and mischievous Josef, a hedge fund trader who relishes his uniqueness, Mick fills his infinite days protecting the living. But one night years ago, a single act of kindness changed Mick when he saved a young girl’s life, making him want to be a better vampire. Now their paths cross again and Mick develops a distinctive bond with Beth Turner who has grown into a beautiful, ambitious Internet investigative reporter. Reconnecting with her unleashes feelings Mick knows he can’t pursue without exposing the part of him that would make him a monster in Beth’s eyes. As Mick lives between two realities, fighting his adversaries among the undead and falling in love, he discovers the mysteries and pleasures that a valuable life has to offer.

Great show. I still don’t see why it is getting compared to Angel it feels more like Forever Knight to me.

i liked it. i liked it so much, i stayed and watched the season premiere of NUMB3RS…which i haven’t watched in a couple of seasons. (shame on me. i’ll catch it on BT or DVD)
anyway, in Moonlight i didn’t see any Angel-ness there, either.
it was definitely more like Forever Knight than Angel.
i’m definitely going to watch again next week.

who is the female artist who sang towards then end of the show?
Jenn from Alabama says
That song is by a band called Evanescence. The lead singer is Amy Lee. Some call them overrated – I think they’ve got a cool sound. That song is called “Haunted.”
As for the show – I liked it a lot more than I thought I would , and I definitely agree with the Forever Knight angle. But I’ve got to give it another week or two to see if I’m hooked.

Actually, the title of the song is “My Immortal”, from Evanescence, Fallen CD. I liked this show alot, can’t wait for the next episode.

I loved it.
Vampire movies suck of late, and there hasn’t been a show in a while.
I was never a Buffy or Angel fan because it was too comic-bookish. I felt it relied to heavily on the legends like crucifixes and garlic which, being an Anne Rice fan from the start, I always found cheesy.
But this show casts aside all the “ridiculous” aspects of vampirism which is very refreshing.
This show doesn’t make me think of Angel at all, although I’ve never seen Forever Knight so I can testify as to that.
All I know is that I will not miss an episode of this show!
