Ira Steven Behr on Slice of SciFi Show #125 — Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007

September 7, 2007 By News Droid Leave a Comment

180px-ira_steven_behr.jpg4400_180.jpgSlice of SciFi Show #125 was to be recorded LIVE at last weekend’s Dragon Con in Atlanta, Georgia but Mike and Brian were so busy with the Parsec Awards program and running from one end of the Con to the other that it just didn’t work out. So, the show will be coming out of the Draco-Vista studio in Phoenix. Summer isn’t on hand but we have a good friend in the house in the guise of Peter Hansen, a.k.a. Warlord.

Our very special guest on this show is producer/writer/director Ira Steven Behr, the executive producer of that USA Channel mega SF hit series “The 4400.” Ira will fill us in on some of the rest of Season Four and what may be happening to some of our favorite characters from the show.

On the news front we clue you in on “Pet Robots,” a real snakes on a plane and a classic Midway Games video game creation is being brought to the big screen in a new film from producers Christine Peters and Michael Cerenzie.

The quintessential martial arts film that starred the legendary Bruce Lee is getting a remake. That’s two weeks in a row where Hollywood can’t leave well enough alone.

The South Park boys strike oil and the future is looking good for Lawrence Bender’s “Outside.”

Because Doug was all set to do a LIVE Trivia from Dragon Con, we will be minus a Special Segment this week, however, the boys have so much to talk about what happen at the Con and the latest news about so many of the shows and movies we love that the segment reserved for Trivia and Movie Reviews or Game Cube is filled to the max. Here is just a hint: “30 Days of Night,” “Age of Conan” video gaming and more.

So, we may not be coming LIVE from Dragon Con, but there will be so much news coming out of it on this show that you will feel like it is from the event….and, we have Ira. What more could one want? Tune in, download and listen to Slice of SciFi Show #125 this Saturday, September 8, 2007 or on XM-Satellite Radio and KVON-FM on the northern West Coast of the US.

Another upside to not having our show coming out of the Con? We have a voicemail show coming out later this evening (Friday – Sept. 7).

Just a reminder that our Slice of SciFi/The Film Crew double contest is on for the whole month. Go HERE for full details. See you all this weekend!
