Hahah Patrick Stewart! That was a joke right? Keanu is the one actor who is so perfect for this role he was born for it. It’s destiny. I think he will take it seriously and do the role justice. It’s great that WB has this much confidence in him. They should. He kept them from going bankrupt in 2000. Go Keanu/Klaatu!

I am just so frustrated about Hollywood’s obsession with REMAKES, especially in regard to science fiction cinema. There are so many classic scifi novels that have never been made into movies that deserve a chance to viewed on the screen. I’ve been a scifi fan for over 40 years, and here are just a few novels I would like to see made into movies:

1.) Stranger In A Strange Land by R. Heinlein

2.) Cities In Flight by James Blish

3.) The Mote In God’s Eye by L. Niven and J. Pournelle

    4.) Ringworld by L. Niven

5.) At The Mountains of Madness by H. P. Lovecraft

This is just a small example of what I would love to see. The industry has evolved to the point that computer FX can create anything, so why remake scifi classics when there are so many scifi novels that never had the opportunity to be seen inthe silver screen?

    I am just so frustrated!

I think now is a great time to do a remake of this classic film. Keanu is the wrong guy to do it with. Christopher Eccleston, anyone?
