David Bowie has denied reports he is to star in the popular “Doctor Who” series, calling those claims as false and “absolute tish and tosh,” according to BBC News. Earlier the infamous tabloid newspaper The Sun, in another of its not-so-rare made-up news reports, stated that Bowie was going to portray an evil alien abductor in a two-part special set for the next season.
Bowie’s singing and acting career have seen a resurgence of late. The 60-year old multi-talented entertainer is back in demand on stage in front of his band and in front of the camera. His role as Tesla in the 2006 magical thriller Hugh Jackman/Christian Bale/Michael Caine film “The Prestige” was priceless. Within the last year he has voiced a character for the children’s TV series “SpongeBob SquarePants” and appeared as himself in Ricky Gervais’s comedy HBO series, “Extras.”
Bowie made a rare cameo appearance on the critically acclaimed but short-lived Matthew Perry drama “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” and wrote songs for three episodes of the likeable BBC series “Life On Mars.”
