Ed Quinn Is Our Guest For Slice of SciFi Show #121

Ed Quinn, who plays Nathan Stark on the very popular and critically successful SCI FI Channel show “Eureka” joins us on this week’s Slice of SciFi Show #121.

An original Californian, Ed attended the University of California at Berkeley obtaining his bachelor degree in history. He started his acting career as a model throughout Western Europe doing television commercials. On United States television he has starred in the “Young Americans,” “CIS: Crime Scene Investigation,” “According To Jim,” “CSI: NY,” “JAG” and so many more, being equally comfortable and talented doing drama, sci-fi or comedy.

A consumate musician, Ed studied guitar with the legendary Joe Satriani and played with LA bands Mad Theory and Scattergood. He has also done a solo music CD titled “Quinn.”

Ed starred in the direct-to-DVD “Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation” in 2004. We can’t hold that against him because his performance in that flick caught the eye of the creators of “Eureka.” Quinn is a perfect match for this funny, witty, and yet serious show about a community of scientists and engineers all living together in a secluded Oregon town where anything can happen, and usually does. Until recently Quinn’s character Nathan Stark ran the whole town and knew all its top secrets, but due to a terrible accident he was replaced by his ex-wife. Fortunately for all of us who love the show and him in it, Quinn’s character remains a vital part of the story. In fact, Ed Quinn, as one of the members of this highly talented ensemble cast, is one of the main reasons why “Eureka” is one of SCI FI Channel’s highest rated shows in the cabler’s history.

In The News:

In Season Two of the acclaimed NBC hit show “Heroes,” viewers will get to do some extensive traveling abroad. Helen Slater, 1980’s Supergirl, joins the cast of “Smallville” as the new Supergirl’s aunt. The Universal Studios Theme Park “Back To The Future” ride will make its final trip through the time vortex this Labor Day.

The 20th Anniversary Collector’s Edition of Robocop will be available on August 21 and we have a geek-gasim over the very thought of it. The crew takes a serious look at a new documentary coming out on September 7th titled “In The Shadow Of The Moon.” This riveting film has the last remaining Apollo astronauts, the only people alive to have ever walked on another world. Their first-hand testimony is interwoven with visually stunning never-before-seen NASA film footage. This film is a must because these men will be gone sooner than later and it is living history that will never be witnessed again.

“Millennium’s” Chip Johannessen will step into the big shoes of the ailing David Greenwalt as showrunner for the new CBS show “Moonlight” and we talk about why this could be a good thing.
