Nicole Kidman may just be turning into the new genre-goddess. She will premiere her new sci-fi film “The Invasion” this month (August 17th), a retelling of the “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” tale with a 21st Century twist and now Universal has hired her to do an English-speaking remake of the successful Columbian horror flick titled “Al final del espectro,” roughly translated means “At The End Of The Phantom” or “At The End Of The Spectra.”
Nicole will do more than star in this film, her production company, Blossom Films will also produce it with Vertigo Entertainment, the same folks that were behind Kidman’s other intriguing suspense film “The Others.” Roy Lee, Doug Davison and Rick Swartz (“The Departed”) will co-produce, according to Variety.
This story surrounds a woman who moves into a brand new fancy apartment to try and get over a recent debilitating tragedy in her life. After she moves in, she cuts herself off from the outside world, becoming a virutal recluse and begins to see a ghost.
This film will probably get very bizarre, but well written, as it is being adapted by “The Number 23” screenwriter Fernley Phillips and will be directed by the 2006 Spanish speaking film’s original helmer Juan Felipe Orozco.
