Transformers Corrections From a Fan

I’m writing this since I couldn’t get through on the voice mail line. You guys have had a couple errors in your reporting on Transformers the Movie and Transformers: Heroes. First off, Peter Cullen and Frank Welker only did the voices for Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively in the Original 1984 cartoon. The new movie and associated video game is the first time they have picked up the mantle of these two characters since the 1980s (although Frank is the voice of Megatron in the video game, not the movie). Since the first series and movie, there
have been 6 Transformer cartoon series on American T.V.

Prime and Megatron have been voiced by other people since the 80s. A quick check on IMDB.com would have supplied this information. Don’t Worry, you guys are not the only ones who seemed to not know this, Scifi Wire and FilmCritic.com both got it wrong.

As for the new Transformers series, Transformers: Heroes, the story will not follow that of the movie. Most of the cartoons have had their own story line and do not follow each other so its similar to a reboot every time they do a Transformers series. From the few images I’ve seen,
the style of the animation is similar to the Samurai Jack cartoon that was aired on Cartoon network a few years ago.

I saw the movie last night and really enjoyed it, and I’m planning on seeing it again tomorrow. It had some great throw backs to the first cartoon and movie but also laid some good ground work for a second movie, which I’ve heard is already green lit. The first half of the movie sets up the world and introduces us to characters and makes you actually care if they make it or not, while the second half is the big battle. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to sit through some of the
credits, there are 3 additional scenes in them.

Anyway, keep up the good work on the podcasts.

Just to make sure I didn't bail too early in the credits but was it the two scenes with the parents being interviewed and then star scream peeling off into space?

    Or was there more?

    Nope, those are it
