Roundtree Joins Racer
The original coolest P.I. to ever hit the silver screen — “Shaft,” actor Richard Roundtree, has joined the cast of the new “Speed Racer.”
Roundtree, who recently made a guest appearance on the NBC hit series “Heroes,” will portray Ben Burns, an iconic ex-racer turned announcer. He joins Matthew Fox, Christina Ricci, John Goddman and Susan Sarandon.
The big screen film, a live-action re-imaging of the popular cartoon series from 4 decades ago, will be distributed by Warner Bros. and comes from “Matrix” creators Larry and Andy Wachowski.
