As series three of “Doctor Who” winds up this evening in the UK (it hits US airwaves next Friday on SCI FI), yesterday’s Daily Mirror has details about casting for series four.
This information is SPOILERish in nature for series four. It won’t (necessarily) ruin any of the last episodes of series three, but if you don’t want to know anything, set your TARDIS coordinates elsewhere on the Slice of SciFi web site….
The big news is that the TARDIS crew will be growing next year. A new companion will enter the scene, but it won’t be as a replacement for Martha Jones. Martha will still be a part of the series, as well as appearing in series two of “Torchwood.” But her role will be changing in the coming season.
A show insider reveals: “Martha will still be in Doctor Who, but her relationship with the Doctor will have changed. The truth is that she loves him but he doesn’t feel the same way. She is going to have to share him because he’ll be getting a different sidekick. And this is a major addition to the cast.”
Martha will not be appearing in the upcoming Christmas special. Rumors and speculation have it that pop-singer Kylie Minogue will be appearing in the role of a companion for that story. (This has not been confirmed and there are lots of rumors, sightings and various reports that indicate this could be a strong possibility. If we find out something definite, we will let you know).
It’s not yet been revealed if the new companion is male or female.
Series four will be a time of transition for the show. Executive producer Russell T. Davies is due to step-down at the end of the series and the contract for David Tennant as the Doctor is up at the end of series four. Tennant has not confirmed that he’s staying or leaving the role of the famous Time Lord.
Despite all the transitions (which the show has survived many such transitions in its long run) the future for the show on the BBC looks good.
Jane Tranter, the head of drama at the BBC said, “One thing is certain, Doctor Who will be around on BBC1 for years to come.”

i realy hope Rose will come back for 1 episode so the doctor can have a proper farewell !!!!
i h8 catherine tate me and plopman are brother
Sally Sparrow should be the companian instead of Donna Noble. p.s if anyone dosent know who Sally Sparrow is shes the blond women in the episode called blink.
You know in the last episode of series one,Rose brought everyone 2 life so that means lynda came back she could be the companian she would be better than Donna
doctor who is the best programe ever !!!
Lynda from series 1 came back 2 life that means she could be the companian !!
whos linda
Lynda is the blonde women in the last 2 episodes of series 1
Lynda from series 1 would be a good companion but I think that Rose only brought Captain Jack back to life. Even if Rose did bring everyone back to life then that means that everyone who was on satellite five can't die like Captain Jack.
LOL!
lynda wasnt brought back
