“Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer” had no problem cresting to the top spot for this weekend’s box office and with the kind of numbers it is generating, it looks like that by midnight it will remain the number one film in the lineup. It easily surpassed last weekend’s Clooney entry, “Ocean’s Thirteen.”
“Surfer,” so far, has brought home over $57 million, which is a tad higher than was expected by media watchers. “We knew it was going to do well,” said one industry source. “But, nearing the $60 million mark is a very happy thing to see.”
The comedy “Knocked Up” holds on to third, still showing strong, “Pirates — At World’s End” continuing to pull in respectable figures will hang in there at four and the animated feature “Surf’s Up” rounds it out.
We will have the full Top Ten numbers for you later in the week.

I caught it over the weekend, honestly, I think I might’ve enjoyed it more if I was 12.

I’m way beyond 12, and I did enjoy it. I enjoyed it far more than the first F4, which I thought was okay. The first one I would not buy on DVD, but the second is one that I would consider buying.
