Bill Murray has joined the cast for “City of Ember,” a SF/Fantasy adventure about an isolated, dark town where the only light provided to the community comes from dimming street lamps.
As the town’s power source begins to fade, two teenagers search for clues that they hope will unlock the ancient mysteries that surround their city. However, there is one thing standing in their way — the town’s corrupt mayor.
Tom Hanks’ Playtone production company, along with Fox Walden, will produce with Gil Kenan (“Monster House”) set to direct.
Toby Jones (Infamous) and Saoirse Ronan (Atonement) join Murray.
Shooting will begin this summer in Belfast, Ireland. “City of Ember” is looking at an October 10, 2008 release date.
