“Dead Like Me” fans have a reason to cheer. The dark-comedy show is rumored to be coming back from beyond the canceleation grave with a direct-to-DVD movie.
The show originally aired on Showtime before it was canceled. MGM told Moviehole they want Steven Herrick (“The Mighty Ducks”) to direct the straight-to-DVD feature film, which is rumored to reunite the original cast.
We will feature more details as they become available.
It’s not official yet, but it looks like the long rumored second “X-Files” movie is gaining momentum.
Gillian Anderson, who played Special Agent Dana Scully on the hit TV series, hinted on her official blog recently that oft-rumored project is getting closer to being a reality.
“Do I imagine that when we do the film together we won’t hate each other for a few hours during the filming? No. We will. Vehemently. As David waits patiently, again and again for the hair dryer to calm my frizzy hair between takes so it matches the beginning of the scene… he will undoubtedly be thinking “what the hell was I thinking agreeing to shoot with her f****** frizzy hair again?” ”
While this isn’t an official confirmation of anything, it does seem to indicate at least one of the two leads to the show is ready and willing to step back into the roles that made them famous.
Rumors have it that the second installment of “The X-Files” will pick up five years after the end of the TV series and will be a stand-alone mystery and not related to the overall mythology of the show.
