The multiple Academy Award winning actor Tom Hanks could be the $50 million man.

langdonbc.jpgCinema Blend is reporting that Hanks will take home a cool $50 million to reprise his role as Robert Langdon in the upcoming prequel to last summer’s international blockbuster “The Da Vinci Code”.

“Angels and Demons,” based on the novel by Dan Brown, is set to begin filming this July. The same team who brought movie-goers the original will reunited again for this prequel. Ron Howard returns to the director’s chair and Akiva Goldsman is penning the adaptation of the best-selling novel. New to the series will be Gisele Bündchen as Hank’s co-star.

“Angels and Demons” find Hanks’ Langdon once again deep on conspiracies and cryptology as he investigates a secret society called the Illuminati.

Many fans who have read both of Brown’s best-selling novels agree that “Angels and Demons” is the stronger of the two stories.
