lilkim.jpgThe popular 80’s hit show “The A-Team” could be headed back for prime-time, according to Dark Horizons.

The series was set to become a big-screen movie in the near future, but reports now indicate the series could be headed back to the small-screen instead.

NBC is interested in producing a four-hour “A-Team” miniseries to air in February of 2008. The mini-series would serve as a backdoor pilot for a new series. If the ratings are good, “The A-Team” could be back on your television screens.

The series is already creating waves with news that rapper Lil Kim may be cast in the iconic role of B.A. Barrackas. B.A. was played on the original series by the muscle-bound Mr. T.

I think it would be much more appropriate to have Face (Dirk Benedict) be played by a woman. Having his character’s gender changed for remakes twice might give him a complex!

“rapper Lil Kim may be cast in the iconic role of B.A. Barrackas”

OMG, that is very bad. B.A can’t be replaced by a woman. The transition from Starbuck ‘78 to Kara Trace was very good done ( I am one of them who prefers Kara Trace above the original Starbuck) but Mr. T is B.A!!!

Why do TV and movie executives think that it’s a good idea to place women in roles previously portrayed by men?

I think an mini series idea is good, but, as much as I liked the series when it was first on, an attempt at a series sounds like a bad idea. Hard to believe the idea factory there can’t come up with better ideas.

I normally don’t reply to these kinds of stories, but as soon as I read, “rapper Lil Kim may be cast in the iconic role of B.A. Barrackas”, I began to feel the onset of convulsions. I’ll admit, I was concerned at first about Battlestar Galactica playing with gender reversals. They managed to pull it off quite well. This possibility however is hopefully a late April Fool’s Joke. Ving Rhames or someone of his caliber would bring this whole concept some respect. Lil Kim??? You might as well cast Barney because it will have the same result…it will make Pluto Nash look like Gone With the Wind.
