Sundance Goes Green

March 25, 2007 by Sam Sloan   || Category: TV News

simran_sethi_thumb.jpgSlice of SciFi joins with the Sundance Channel and organization founder Robert Redford in announcing the channel’s move to Green.

This 13-Part original series “Big Ideas for a Small Planet”â„¢ presented by Redford launches on April 17, 2007 and will be a weekly documentary dedicated to addressing Green ideas for the use of fuel, waste disposal, fashion, architecture, food growth, collection and processing.

With THE GREEN, Sundance Channel becomes the first television network in the United States to establish a major, regularly-scheduled programming destination dedicated entirely to the environment!

While this is not SF genre related, it is something we believe in deeply and want to make known to our worldwide fanbase. Regardless of which side of the fence one stands in regards to global warming, there is always things we should be doing as responsible residents of this planet to keep it clean…our future generations are dependent on what we do in the now.

I think this is a FANTASTIC idea. I hope that other channels will begin broadcasting this groundbreaking show. I don’t have the Sundance Channel, but a great place for this would be the HGTV, which is the Home and Garden channel.
