Green Hornet Back On the Table?
A while back SF fans got all excited when they learned that a big screen adaptation of the comic book hero The Green Hornet was in the offing. Then it was learned that Kevin Smith was seriously considering it as a project, but after that fell through nothing else came of it and the story just went the way of the dinosaurs.
Now, word out of tinsel town is Columbia Pictures has picked up the option for the film and purchased the rights from producer Neal H. Moritz, the holder of the property known as Green Hornet, Inc.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be developing this world renowned property with the people who brought Spider-Man to the screen,” Green Hornet producer Neal Moritz said in a statement.
We will have to wait a little longer to see when Columbia will actually breath celluloid life into the legendary crime fighter, but they have stated that when it does get made it would be updated to contemporary times but follow the original mythology of the character.
As we learn more news of this project we will have it here on Slice of SciFi.
