Watch That “Shutter” Speed

March 1, 2007 by Sam Sloan   || Category: Film News

“Shutter” was a 2004 film from Thailand that has captured the attention of 20th Century Fox and Regency Enterprises. They have decided to do a Western remake of the film, but with that asian touch from director Masayuki Ochiai.

This new “Shutter” will star Dawson Creek’s Joshua Jackson, Rachael Taylor, David Denman, James Kyson Lee and John Hensley. The film’s story centers around a young couple, played by Jackson and Taylor, who begin to see ghost-like images in their photographs. Eventually they begin to see the ghosts in the world around them without the aid of a camera.

Filming begins for “Shutter” in Tokyo, Japan on March 12th.

I really hope they do this one justice. The final scene of that movie still gives me goosebumps. If you haven’t seen the original I highly recommend you go find it before Hollywood gets their hands on it.

I suppose I’m a little bitter after my experience with ‘Ring 2′.
