Robert Wertheimer — co-creator of “Charlie Jade” Joins Slice of SciFi as Guest on February 7, 2007

February 5, 2007 by Sam Sloan   || Category: Coming to Slice

On Wednesday’s, February 7th Slice of SciFi show co-hosts, Mike and Summer, will be interviewing director/producer Robert Wertheimer. Bob is the co-creator of the South African/Canadian SF series “Charlie Jade.” This is the story of a P.I. that gets caught up in three parallel universes while investigating a case. Bob’s name may sound familiar due to his work on other popular SF television shows from the past such as “Robo Cop” and “Friday the 13th: The Series.”

He was also involved with the production of “Lost in the Bermuda Triangle,” “Stiletto Dance” “Requiem For Murder” and two of the sequels to the “Universal Soldiers” franchise of films.

Hopefully Bob can enlighten us on the future distribution of “Charlie Jade” to the rest of the world, including the U.S. and if Season Two of the series has been given the green light.

In other news, we learn of the recent discovery of the 18,000 year old Hobbit skeletal remains dug up by a team of archeologists in Indonesia — we speculate a bit on who will replace Katie Holmes as Assistant D.A. Rachel Dawes in the next Batman flick called “The Dark Knight,” and the writers of the next Bond flick tell us if we will see Q and/or Moneypenny in Bond 22.

Movie Talk fills our plate with delicious news about “Hannibal Rising” and we heat things up anticipating Nicholas Cage’s return to the big screen as “Ghost Rider” Johnny Blaze.

SF television pilots will be all the rage this coming fall season with no less than thirteen new offerings in the mix. We take a closer look at two of them, and are happy to report that zombies have made it into primetime.

In our faster-than-light ship we quickly cruise into the future to look at Brendan Fraser’s new vehicle from the pen of author Cornelia Funk. He stars with award winning actress Helen Mirren in “Inkheart,” based upon the Ink trilogy of novels still in development by Funk. Also, Bob Hoskins and Alexander Siddig have signed on to Rhona Mitra’s new SF movie “Doomsday” elevating it from the ranks of a high-profile B-Movie to an A-list movie distributors are now excited about.

All this news, our interview with Robert Wertheimer, a movie review by the twins from MoviePulse.net, Evo makes a special announcement about Trek to the Troops, and so much more — and best of all — it’s free! Join us for Show #095 on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 for a great program.

Hi gang. Jim from Cape Cod here. With way too much time on my hands and a festering need for a good geek debate, I have selected and ranked 100 SF television shows on my blog. If you have time to spend and brain cells to lose, feel free to take a gander and see if you agree or disagree with my picks.

Looking forward to the 2/7 edition of the show!
