It turns out that Laverne and Shirley’s Lenny is the smartest celebrity in America, even beating out the United States Education Secretary, Margaret Spellings. Ms. Spellings ended up in second place behind Michael McKean (This Is Spinal Tap) in this year’s famous Celebrity Jeopardy contest.
Placing third was actor Hill Harper, from the television show “CSI: NY.”
Each celebrity earns at least $25,000 for the charity of his or her choice, and the winner gets $50,000 for a charity.
McKean, who has been a Hollywood staple for over 30 years outwitted all opponents.
The versatile actor/musician/screenwriter and author is one of those rare breeds for the 21st century, a virtual renaissance man who has a firm grip on many different disciplines that has served him well. He is also known for his deft improvisational skills having cut his teeth early in his career with the comedy trio Credibility Gap and working with some of the very best in improvisational filmmaking, including the great Christopher Guest, Rob Reiner, Harry Shearer, Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy.
Michael has several projects going for 2007 including, two made for TV shows, the comedy “Heaven Can Wait” and a holiday fantasy called “The Year Without A Santa Claus.” He can be seen on the big screen with Sam Rockwell in the anticipated psychological thriller “Joshua.” McKean will also provide voice work for the 2007 release of the animated fantasy flick “Surf’s Up.”

Ah, you know that celebs ran for two weeks on Jeopardy and it isn’t a tournament, right? Michael won that day, not against all the others. Do you people actually watch what you write about??
Hell no - why would I watch Jeopardy? But, the fact that he kicked a highly educated person with a degree in political science and someone who has worked in education for years, the US Education Secretary’s butt, makes it an interesting story - and besides - Michael is one sharp cookie you wouldn’t really want to match brains or wits with on a toe to toe basis.
So, to answer your question - no I don’t personaly, myself, watch everything little thing I write about, but I have a staff of reporters across the planet that do, and I do watch my fair share of the things that end up either on the show or this website..but I don’t live in front of the tube or big screen (although I am guilty of spending a great deal of time in front of this damn computer screen - just ask my wife)..I actually do have a life apart from this that includes a family, friends, other hobbies and a lucrative professional medical career.
