Eccelston Is a Hero
How can a network tell when they have themselves a real hit show? Well, one of the ways is you begin having agents for heavy-hitters pounding on your door wanting their client to appear on the program.
Case in point is this season’s big surprise hit on NBC called “Heroes.” We reported that George Takei has come onboard the series and will play Hiro’s very rich father who comes to America to try and force his son home before Hiro has had to chance to finish his mission - you remember - “Save the cheerleader, Save the world!”
Now we can report that the actor who brought back “Doctor Who” in its first season after a long hiatus from the tube, Christopher Eccleston, will be signing up as a regular cast member with super powers of his own. Look for Christopher to show up on “Heroes” in January 2007.

I’m not sure I read this right.
The Doctor.
On Heroes.
As a superhero.
*stunned silence*
Okay, that’s pretty cool.
Shiny!
Could he be playing the mysterious Syler???
So… Let me get this straight… he give up the role of the Doctor because he doesn’t want to be forever known as that character, but doen’t mind it so much when he’s forever known as a different character?
OK. Christopher Eccelston. The ex-Doctor.
Gonna be on my favourite show (after BSG, of course).
Squeeeeeeee!!!!
I’m just sayin’.
By the way, how can a man look so scraggly…and freakin’ HOT at the same time?!!!

As most people know, I am a huge Doctor Who fan and by proxy, I like the shows that Doctor Who alumni show up in. Well, I was jonesing waiting for Eccelston to show up (hopefully as it is still a rumor) in the BBC remake of The Prisoner and lo and behold I won’t have to wait as long to see him again […]
[…] Then just today, I saw another Heroes casting announcement. Christopher Eccelston will be joining the cast. Nothing is known yet about the character he’ll be playing, other than that it be a powered character. Christopher Eccelston is of course best known as the ninth doctor from the popular British scifi series “Doctor Who“. […]
[…] In November 2006 we reported that former Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston would be appearing in some of the new episodes of NBC’s hit “Heroes.” At that time it was all hush-hush whether he would actually be one of the heroes or some other related cast member. Now we are happy to report that he will indeed be a hero and an invisible one at that. […]
