When Does This Man Sleep?

October 30, 2006 By Kyle Nin 2 Comments

The Emmy-winning and Star Trek iconic actor William Shatner has a new game show debuting on ABC Wednesday, November 22nd at 8:00 PM ET. Appropriately titled “Show Me the Money,” described by ComingSoon.net as a fast-paced, high-octane variety/game show series in which contestants must answer a minimum of six trivia questions. After each answer, the contestant chooses from among thirteen dancers on stage, each of whom holds a scroll with a dollar figure to be added or subtracted depending on if the contestant’s answer is right or wrong.

A correct answer, combined with choosing a dancer holding big money, can quickly catapult the players winnings into the millions. But a wrong answer, combined with the wrong dancer, can wipe out winnings in an instant. There is no opportunity to play it safe – contestants will be tempted to take the money and run, but this rollercoaster ride of a game show requires that you play to the very end.

Adding to the variety aspect of the show are the thirteen stunning Million-Dollar Dancers who are always ready to break into any style of dance, while audacious master of ceremonies William Shatner spontaneously boogies with the beauties on stage.

Think about the fact that Shatner is 75 years old, has had a highly successful career that has continued for over a half a century, is currently the lead star in one of the most successful television shows on the air (Boston Legal) – garnering him two back-to-back Emmy awards, can be seen in commercials hawking everything from hotel tickets to Satellite dishes, still is sought out by directors for movie roles, spends hundreds of hours every year working for a variety of charity organizations through his efforts with the William Shatner horse shows and paintball tournaments, appears at several Trek and Scifi conventions annually, a respected author, songwriter and most notably, a living legend having been the main star of a SF franchise that has lasted now over 40 years, with no signs of abating.

So, I ask again – when does this man sleep? Oh Yeah, that’s right! He catches some nap time in the court room…..”Denny Crane!”

You’re forgeting that there are two Shatners. One good, yet weak. One evil, but strong!

Yes it does: Three in Total At This Time:

    1. Ahead With Horses: is a therapeutic riding organization which works with children who are very badly disabled. Most cannot walk, some are blind, some have little chance of survival, but all benefit from the devotion of the AWH staff.

    2. Camp Max Straus: is owned and operated by Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles. Established in 1938, the camp provides residential camping services to underprivileged children who reside in Los Angeles County. The camp offers both a traditional summer camp program and a High Sierra backpacking program. All of the services provided by Camp Max Straus are open to children of all races and denominations.

    3. L.A. Family Housing: provides a safe, caring and service-rich environment that helps homeless families and individuals rebuild their lives.
