Hey gang!
Although I haven’t been keeping up with SG-1, your description of episode #200 sounded really familiar.. A little research revealed that it was, in fact, a sequel to their 100th episode, “Wormhole X-Treme!”, episode 12 of season 5.
That was one I actually saw.. And it wasn’t all that great the first time.
I look forward to catching up to SG-1, now that it is no longer a moving target!
Keep up the good work,
the Encaffeinated ONE

I screwed up about saying it was a BBC co-production, but after that it’s all good…

I caught bits and pieces of the 200th and yeah I wasn’t a fan of it either after I caught what they were doing with it I was on to another show. I was flipping channels at the time so I did catch a few of the ‘mini-stories’ but on the whole *yawn*.
Ed from Texas says
You guys are just nuts – Episode 200 rocked.
First, I had to start the slap an Evo meme. Now I’m going to have to start one for Mennenga as well, it seems.
Decompiled says
Stick to TV guys, Maelstrom is the worst RTS I have ever played, even worse than Perimeter (if that’s possible).
Brad says
I agree with Ed from Texas. Episode 200 of Stargate SG1 was great.

I’d like to add my thumbs up to SG1 “200”.
The marionette treatment was brilliant. It actually made me laugh out loud.
Though I don’t have Showtime, I think it’d be nice if the show went back to cable.
And Psyche is wonderful.
Mark in Memphis is spot on with his description of the “Psyche”.
tllgrrl says
And once more thing…
There’s a little teaser USA has for Psyche, Monk and Dead Zone where, at a diner, Sean’s telling Johnny how easy he’s got it with the visions thing, Johnny’s telling Sean how it was because of a coma. Sean talks about his crappy father.
Then behind them, Monk is counting and lining up the kernels of corn on his plate, giving the waitress the spare 3.
Sean says something to the effect of “At least we’re not *that* guy.”
All of these characters are compelling and intriguing in their own way.

I thought the Stargate SG-1 200th-episode was hilarious. I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw it. Well, except for the last bit where the Wormhole X-Treme guys got interviewed. Anyway, too bad you didn’t find most of the inside jokes funny. But then again, it was aimed more toward fans of the show, I thought. Still, great podcast, guys. 🙂

One more thing…I swear…
Regarding product placement in tv and movies, how about the digital vid cam in the remake of War of the Worlds.
The holder of the cam gets blasted by the alien ship, the cam falls to the ground and there’s an ECU of the vid screen still taping.
I can’t remember the brand, but it was visible.
(I guess if I could actually afford a digital vid cam, I’d probably remember the name…but alas…)
Sam says
Speaking of product placement….it is really nothing new. My wife and I saw this old silent era movie(not documentary) about life in the plains States back in the day, and in one scene there was a stack of Wonder Bread loaves and the camera continued panning between them and the actors on the other side of the room. It was quite blatant. The bread had absolutely nothing to do with the story except that the actors were shooting the scene in a local store in this small town.
