I was under the impression that they wrapped it up at the end of the UK run of the show…

Good thing I didnt watch it then.

Maybe someone needs to put together a business plan for “direct to DVD” television syndication. Or even a “direct to iPod” syndication deal with a distributor like iTunes. Even TIVO or Netflix could get in on the deal with their experimental set-top-box broadband delivery method.

One episode, including limited commercial content, delivered directly to my DVR weekly. I’d be willing to subscribe for $35-$40 per year for 20+ episodes for something I’d really like to see. Instant “Nielsen Ratings!” If the viewers don’t like where the show is going, revenue falls off. No Network VP Monkeys to suck up to. No sponsor pressure on the creative content.

At between $250,000 to $350,000 per episode that’s only 150,000 housholds. Well within the subscriber base of any of the above companies….
