Sean Morris (Director/Co-Writer) and Writer Bryan Davidson join us on our next show this Wednesday, August 2, 2006. They have joined forces to create the indie film masterpiece that is “Rainbringer.”
Sean started out directing underground, independent shorts in his home state of Alaska. Even then he showcased a talent for razor-sharp storytelling and a Do-It-Yourself approach. It is through this rigorous on-the-job training that Morris has honed his skills to become a highly sought-after director. His feature film debut, “Kusah Hakwaan” toured the US, Canada and Europe, garnering four International Awards. It was also given the honor of an extensive run at the Smithsonian, and has become part of that prestigious institute’s permanent collection. Recently, the film was picked up for distribution by Ellis Entertainment. Sean’s music videos have proven to be extremely successful, finding a myriad of viewers on MTV, Black Entertainment Television (BET), HBO’s hit music video show “The Zone”, Telehit, The Box Music Network, D99 and others. This same success has been found in Sean’s national-award winning commercials. Morris drifts easily through genres, and because he has worked in every facet of film production, he knows what a good shot is and how to get it. Through his independent roots he’s learned to put production monies where they count, making sure his budgets end up where they should – firmly infused into the image on the screen.
Bryan is a Los Angeles-based writer who has worked successfully in innumerable media and genres. Bryan has written award-winning feature film and commercials, as well as cutting-edge music video scripts. His stage play War Music was produced at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, and was hailed by critics and audiences alike. The play was given the prestigious honor of being named one of the year’s top ten notable shows by the Los Angeles Times and it received three Ovation awards, including Best World Premiere Play. Recently, he was commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic to create two theater pieces that were performed at the 2,265-seat Walt Disney Concert Hall.
“Rainbringer” is Bryan’s second feature film collaboration with Sean, the first being the award-winning “Kusah Hakwaan.”
