Live Action Video Games... not so original afterall

On a recent show, we thought it would be a stupendous idea to have people act out their favorite arcade and video games. Turns out, other folks had the same thought. Hey, give me a break. I don’t get out of the house much.

Here’s a comprehensive list of what I’ve seen so far. If you know of one not on the list, add it in the comments:

It also appears that Nintendo did this as a promo for their DS machine in the UK. Oh, and there are plenty more in the comments section of show 66. We really ought to check on this stuff before we say it out loud, huh?

It's not quite the same thing, but have you seen this elaborate stunt from Derren Brown's 'Trick of the Mind'?

I won't give anything away, but it revolves around a "House of the Dead" style shoot-the-zombies style arcade game... and for those of you who don't know Derren, he uses suggestibility, subliminal messaging, body language, etc, to totally mess around with people's heads. To give you an idea of what he can do, at Christmas he hosted a management training seminar, and unbeknowst to the attendees, he was actually conditioning them to commit an armed robbery. 3 out of the 4 went through with it... Very clever stuff.

Anyway, the "Zombie" clip is here, and is about 10 minutes long...

I wrote a script for a short film about people making an adaptation of the Deer Hunter video games. It never got filmed, but it would've been funny.
