Steven Spielberg plans on making a feature film about space travel through a wormhole.
Once he has finished up current projects Spielberg would like to direct it for Paramount Pictures with War of the Worlds partner Lynda Obst acting as producer of the project. He still has several irons in the fire at the current time including the Indy 4 sequel teaming him back up with George Lucas and Harrison Ford and an Abraham Lincoln bio pic scheduled to star Liam Neeson.
The famous director would like to keep this as yet unamed project about space travelers who enter a wormhole and come out on the other side in a totally different dimension, based in solid science so to add some validity to the film’s premise he attended a Caltech workshop on wormhole theory held by renowned physicist Kip S. Thorne.
Thorne is most noted in scientific circles for positing the highly controversial idea that wormholes not only exist, but can also be accessed and used as portals for time travel.
