On the Next Slice of SciFi Show #061 - June 13, 2006

We are excited that “The 4400″ has returned and am looking forward to the direction that Ira Steven Behr will be taking the show this season. With that in mind we have as our guest on the next Slice of SciFi Show one of the major stars of that exciting SF television program.

4400_Patrick_Flueger_6.jpgPatrick Flueger, actor and musician in his own one time rock band, will be joining Mike and Evo to talk about what it is like working on “The 4400″ with such an eclectic ensemble cast.

Patrick plays Shawn Ferrell in the series. After he was abducted and returned 3-years later with the rest of the 4400 he began exhibiting unusual abilities that could either heal or kill with just the touch of his hands. After the assassination and strange disappearance of Jordan Collier (played by Billy Campbell), Shawn became the tentpole for the huge 4400 Institute.

On of Patrick’s greatest joys was watching Sir Anthony Hopkins acting and take command of a scene when he starred as Rusty opposite the highly honored veteran actor in the film “The World’s Fastest Indian.” Patrick has also starred opposite two other Hollywood legends in “The Princess Diaries” with Julie Andrews and Hector Elizondo.

Apart from “The 4400″ Patrick’s favorite TV shows include Boston Legal - he thinks Bill Shatner and James Spader together are awesome, Arrested Development, and The Family Guy.

In news we find out Nicolas Cage says that his rendition of the comic book biker wraith “Ghost Rider” is ready to motor. “The Da Vinci Code” enters the moviemaking history books surpassing both Spiderman films in international earnings. One of the film industry’s giants has recovered wonderfully after a very long struggle with a myriad of health problems and is returning to Broadway with one of his all-time classics. The comedy master Jerry Lewis will be bringing a musical remake of his classic “The Nutty Professor” to the Great White Way.

We will have lots of Movie and TV Talk along with Doug returning after a short hiatus to try and stump the cult with another round of SF trivia audio clips.

Behind the curtain of tomorrow we hear a little about James Cameron’s venture into the exciting world of CGI Photo Real Version Performance and 3-D Technology for his next two filming projects. And speaking of technology, the gang gets excited about the science of Stargate SG-1.

You want to be sure and not miss this one, ready for download on June 13, 2006.
