Smallville: The Complete Fifth Season will be available on DVD by September 12, 2006.
The WB 5th series will feature a colledctible six-disc set with all 22 episodes and stars the entire cast of Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk, Michael Rosenbaum, John Schneider, Annette O’Toole, Allison Mack, John Glover and Erica Durance.
Also included are bonus features such as the featurette “Smallville’s 100th Episode: The Making of a Milestone,” unaired and deleted scenes, a “Vengeance Chronicles Webisode Gallery,” plus much more. The DVD will be priced a tad steep at $59.98 + tax retail.
“Smallville” is one of the few shows from The WB that survived the merger with UPN to form CW Cable Station and will see its premiere on the new network. “This summer will see a resurgence of the Superman franchise with the theatrical release of Superman Returns, driving a craze among fans who are hungry for more “Man of Steel” lore,” said Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV Marketing. “Smallville: The Complete Fifth Season is timed to capitalize on the never-ending popularity of DC Comics’ Superman character and the sixth season premiere of the series on the CW.”

Hey, Sam!
When something takes flight, it “flies”.
Many flys fly.
A single fly flies. Like a Smallville DVD.

Glad to see the sarcasm wasn’t missed on ya 🙂

Ahhh, yes I see. I bet Bryan Singer and the Superman movie folks see a mixed blessing in Smallville. It is boosting the franchise – maybe even making Superman Returns possible, but is so darn frustrating – i.e. they made Lana the most disliked female character on TV (Did they mean to do that?) and Smallville’s Clark is pretty much bewildered. That’s got to be really hard to adjust for with the movie.
