Peter Bryant, former Doctor Who producer died on Friday at the age of 83. Peter was the main force behind the series during the time of Patrick Troughton’s stint as the Doctor in the late 1960’s.
Bryant moved from in front of the camera to behind it after starring in several successful productions including the famed British TV miniseries “Wuthering Heights” in 1953. It was this production that created the miniseries a full decade before the format was used by American television. He also starred in the first ever BBC soap opera in 1950’s called “The Grove Family.”
Even though his scripting and producing career continued well past his involvment with the Doctor, Peter will always be remembered for his pivotal role in moving the Doctor Who series onward into its next decade.
