Frank Spotnitz is our Guest on Slice of SciFi Show #057

May 12, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 4 Comments

On the next Slice of SciFi show #057 our very special guest is big-time TV and movie producer Frank Spotnitz. Frank has been the power behind some of the best known television programs of the last 15 to 20 years including “The X-Files,” “Millenium,” “The Lone Gunmen,” “Harsh Realm” and “Robbery Homicide.” Most recently Frank was executive producer of the series remake of “The Night Stalker.” He will chat with Mike and Evo about all of this plus what is new on his plate. Frank will be producing two new projects, one for television and a feature film remake of the original Michael Douglas vehicle “The Star Chamber.” The new TV project just announced is called “Amped” with the story centering around a group of humans battling genetically altered monsters in LA.

On the show we will have lots of news and a special announcement about our Slice of SciFi Website. Summer and Joe will be back to talk about “The Omen” and “Devil’s Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three.” We also have some interesting “Knight Rider” news with a big disappointment for Hasselhoff fans, as well as talk about a mega STAR TREK CON.

We will WOW you with movie news about the vid-to-film making of “World of Warcraft,” life on “The Other Side,” big casting news for the final installment of “Resident Evil” Extinction,” and “The Golden Compass” gets a new boss.

In TV Talk James Callis spills some beans about “Battlestar Galactica’s” next season and some old “friends” from Doctor Who’s past come a calling.

Summer gazes into her crystal ball and cautions against picking up hitchikers and some really big news about “Stargate SG1.”

You really don’t want to miss this jam-packed show so download and plug-in for a great time starting this Tuesday, May 16, 2006 for the Slice of SciFi Show #057 with Mike, Evo and the Kick-Ass Mystic Ninjas.

You’re right – that’s what happens at 1:30 in the morning..one can grab the wrong pic file in one’s library…but isn’t Chris still a handsome devil? 🙂

    Correct pic-file found and posted.

I will be interested to hear the interview with Spotnitz. He was not my favorite XF writer, but he’s been pretty prolific in his writing.

    Oh for cryin’ out loud!!!
Now why the hell are they remaking The Star Chamber fer chri’sakes?!!!
I actually liked that movie. Liked it enough to NOT want to see a remake of it.
Damn! This is just proof that the people making decisions in the movie biz have never read books.
Why not, oh I don’t know, read a book and adapt a great story? There’s an idea!
No…we’ll just rehash some movies and TV shows we saw when we were kids: Miami Vice, It Takes A Thief…Star Chamber.
    *Sheesh*
Anyway, looking forward to the Spotnitz ‘cast.
