SCI FI in the U.K. has reached a deal with Twentieth Century Fox to premiere the first fifteen minutes of the Russian fantasy epic Night Watch, which hits theaters in the U.K. this October.
The 15 minutes, previously not shown outside of Russia, will air exclusively on SCI FI at 10 p.m. on September 26. The film, produced for $4 million, was released in Russia last year and broke all box office records in the country.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have bagged this remarkable world exclusive for our audience,” said Nick Betts, the managing director of SCI FI U.K. “Night Watch set the box office alight when it opened in Russia last year with the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Danny Boyle singing its praises. This unique deal is testimony to our terrific relationship with Fox, but also clearly demonstrates our commitment to bringing the best in sci-fi to our viewers.”
